Renewal Requirements

  • At least twelve (12) of the hours must be relevant to and focus on massage therapy techniques, which may include the history of massage, human anatomy & physiology, kinesiology and/or pathology.
  • Two (2) hours must cover instruction in professional ethics. Note – If you are a new licensee and this is your first renewal, you are not required to complete this course for renewal.
  • Two (2) hours must cover instruction in the prevention of medical errors.
  • Two (2) hours must cover instruction in Florida Laws and Rules (Chapter 480 and 456, Florida Statutes and Rule Chapter 64B7, F.A.C.). Note – If you are a new licensee and this is your first renewal, you are not required to complete this course for renewal.
  • In addition to the hours required above, a course in HIV/AIDS is also required for renewal.
  • All courses must be obtained through a Board of Massage Therapy Approved Provider.

Please note:  It is the Massage Therapist’s responsibility to be knowledgeable of his /her own renewal requirements, and seek out any additional required hours as appropriate (ethics, laws, etc,).  MVN shall only be held responsible for notifying the board of completed hours with us.  Application of such hours, as required by the board should be followed up with by the Therapist.  MVN will not be held responsible for license renewals, or any other detail outside of our realm of business.  MVN will not be held responsible for those individuals who practice without a license (as indicated by their jurisdiction).  Courses are non-transferable, and certificates will only include the name of the person who enrolled.
